What we need from you

Employed Persons:

Pre-approval Mortgage Requirements for Employed Persons - Purchase

  • Stamped pay slips of previous 3 months
  • Stamped bank statements of previous 6 months for non BPR Bank account holders
  • Duly filled and signed loan application form
  • Copy of National ID
  • Copy of employment contract/Letter from employer confirming employment terms, length of service and retirement age.
  • Copy of detailed CV if on contract
  • Copy of sale agreement or Offer Letter from seller also indicating account details for payment
  • Positive CRB search report by BPR Bank official
  • BPR salary account to be opened
  • One passport size photograph
  • Copy of title/lease contract for property being purchased
  • Valuation Report from a valuer advised by BPR
  • Loan Balance Certificate / Loan Clearance Certificate where applicable
  • Commitment of up to 50% of your net income to the mortgage

Post-approval Mortgage Requirements for Employed Persons

  • Notary payment for Offer Letter - RWF 18,000
  • Notary payment for Mortgage Contract - RWF 18,000
  • Payment for Abstract of Mortgage Agreement - RWF 15,000
  • Registration fees – RWF 20,000
  • Transfer fees – RWF 30,000
  • Upfront payment of comprehensive and life insurance for one year to a BPR approved provider
  • Payment of 2% commitment fees
  • Undertaking from employer to remit salary to BPR Bank till full repayment of facility
  • Joint surety
  • Marital Status Certificate
  • Updated Valuation Report upon successful transfer
  • Funds to be remitted to seller’s account via RIPPS

Additional Construction Documentation

  • Valuation Report from a valuer to be advised by BPR Bank indicating value of plot, works done and works to be done (bills of quantity).
  • Building permit
  • Approved and duly stamped building plans
  • Approved and duly stamped structural drawings where applicable
  • Deed plan
  • Payment of 2.5% commitment fees

Self-employed Persons:

Mortgage Requirements for Self-employed Persons

  • Duly completed application form
  • Copy of National ID and Registration Certificate
  • Audited books of accounts reflecting the last 3 years
  • Account turnovers/banking history for the last 12 months (BPR Bank and other banks)
  • Full details of all borrowings and facilities advanced from other institutions
  • Copy of RRA TIN Certificate

Pre-approval Mortgage Requirements - Purchase

  • Copy of National ID of the directors/shareholders of the company.
  • One passport size photograph each of the directors/shareholders.
  • Registration Certificate
  • Copy of title /lease over property offered as security
  • Duly signed Sale Agreement
  • Current Valuation Report from a valuer to be advised by the bank.
  • Business history, profile and background of the company
  • Audited Books of Accounts reflecting the last 3 years
  • Account turnovers/banking history for the last 12 months from other banks
  • Full details of all borrowings and facilities advanced from other institutions
  • Copy of RRA TIN Certificate
